But this duo, Pratt & Moody, isn’t from the early 70s, and they’re not from Philly or Detroit either. Pratt & Moody come from that lesser known hotbed of soul music, Finland.
Pratt & Moody’s real names are Tuomo Prättälä and Markus Nordenstreng, and they are part of a thriving scene of classic soul music in Finland. Though they haven’t released a lot at this point, what they have released is certainly what you want to be adding to your Soul Music Mix for the summer. Though we may not have a lot of them, what we do have is a sweet, deep beat ballad that’ll be hard to put shade on this year.
