Song of the Week: “Pas si vite” by DjeuhDjoah and Lieutenant Nicholson

Since their meeting in the 90s, the two artists, DjeuhDjoah and Lieutenant Nicholson, seem to have made it their mission to make the world a little more cool and funky, as they do with our song of the week, “Pas si vite.” With their Creole and euphoric cocktail of swaying groove inspired by Africa and Caribbean sounds. An ultra positive message supported by a rather electro-funk groove. Pas si vite means to take it easy. One can’t help but move and feel the spirits lifting to the beat of this tune. The boombastic duo are singing and dancing around joyfully with the message:

Pas si vite

Tout va trop vite

Bien trop vite

Tout va si vite

Pas si vite

Tout va trop vite

Ralentissons

Pas si vite

Which translates to:

not so fast

Everything is going too fast

way too fast

Everything is going so fast

not so fast

Everything is going too fast

let’s slow down

not so fast

On a dancing funk rhythm of the 90s, the songwriting champions of bossa sound beats invite us to let go, reminding us that things are better when we slow down. If you find yourself caught up with the fast paced world, then hit play and remember, pas si vite.
