From the English electronic music producer and singer-songwriter James Blake off of his fourth studio album, Assume Form, we are showcasing the dreamy melody “I’ll Come Too.” Blake wrote the song about accompanying his girlfriend, actress Jameela Jamil, on her extended work trips. In an interview with BBC, Blake explains the inspiration behind the song and shared with them,
“I was remembering a moment. It’s about the inception of a new love and that moment where you’re aimlessly following this person wherever you can. You have this kind of magnetic pull where you’ll say, ‘Let’s drive around till three in the morning,’ because you don’t want go home, you don’t want to be away from them.”
The new love romance comes across clearly in his lyrics as he sings:
Oh, you’re going to the brink?
I’m going there
Why don’t I come with you?
You don’t care what they think
I’m getting there
I could get there too
In addition to that romantic anecdote there is another layer for nature lover to enjoy which is that the official music video also features unseen footage from Planet Earth 2. It showcases an unlikely “love story” between a penguin and an albatross, as Blake sings about the euphoric feelings of a new relationship. Funny, educational and romantic!? Swoon!
