Ready for the sexiest calendar you’ve ever seen? Behold our list of sex-related holidays to keep your sex life lively all year long.
We all know and celebrate—or avoid, or dread—Valentine’s Day, but there are plenty of other sex-related holidays throughout the year to stoke the fires of desire in ways other than uninspired carnations and forced dinner reservations. Thanks to the daily grind of life, it’s easy to fill our calendars with the usual to-dos, and forget to save time for some sensual fun, so how about shaking things up and filling your calendar with some sexy celebrations? With a little research, we’ve managed to round up some lesser known but very fun holidays worth celebrating.
January 13th – Shower Together Day
The unofficial holiday of enjoying sex in the shower, Shower Together Day is not only environmentally friendly, but also a great holiday to get dirty while you get clean.
Third Friday of January – International Fetish Day
Take the day to explore your wild side and dive into the world of celebrating BDSM on International Fetish Day. You don’t have to go full kink to celebrate…but you could! The origin of International Fetish Day comes from wanting to increase awareness and support of the fetish community, whilst opposing the strict UK law that criminalized possession of “extreme pornography.” It was also designed to encourage society to try to be more open about their sexuality and desires.
First Friday of February – Work Naked Day
After lockdown we can all attest to the benefits of working from home, but how about doing so in the nude? Work Naked Day was created by home office expert Lisa Kanare. You might be surprised to learn this holiday is not just about working without clothes; it’s also meant to raise awareness about how much happier and productive people can be when working from the comfort of their own home. Be sure to remind your coworkers and boss of your observed holiday of choice. Maybe the whole team can take part in the festivities!
February 13 – National Condom Day
Created by AIDS Healthcare Foundation and celebrated each year on February 13, National Condom Day came about as an innovative and fun way to remind people that wearing a condom can prevent pregnancy and STIs, including HIV.
February 14 – Valentine’s Day
The enduring holiday of romance and love we all know so well. Maybe this year for fun try to explore what new sexy traditions you can incorporate into your Valentine, I mean, your Valentine’s Day!
March 3 – Threesome Day
What better day to celebrate threesomes than the third day of the third month? Grab a friend, or grab a friendly couple, and get your festivities on! Three’s company, indeed, on March 3!
March 14 – Steak and Blowjob Day
Following Valentine’s Day by exactly one month, the comedically-founded Steak and Blowjob Day started as a bit of a sexist retort to all the commercialism and pressure of the old fashioned Valentine’s Day. The celebration of juicy steaks and juicy blowjobs is meant to be, as you guessed, in return for Valentine’s Day. Sure, this could seem divisive, but it could also be just some good tongue (in cheek) play.
April 14 – Cake and Cunnilingus Day
Yes, we know it seems like there are a lot of food centered holidays, but really, that’s what some of the best holidays are centered around. Who brings the best cake to the party? And who brings the best cunnilingus to the party? Guess you’ll just have to celebrate this holiday to find out!
April 16 – National Horny Day
Stop stifling your libido and embrace that horniness on today. Let all those racy thoughts run all day to mark the holiday. Maybe you could celebrate by sharing your horniest thoughts with your horniest friends? (Note: Urban Dictionary has clearly taken the wrong turn by mistaking National Horny Day as a free pass to ask for sexual content from anyone. Yikes! This is not recommended.)
May – National Masturbation Month
Celebrate your body every day in the month of May! Whether you choose to celebrate alone, or with a partner or partners, this is the best kind of a hands-on holiday. Be sure to enjoy the festivities with or without toys. An added bonus of this celebration is the great cause that started it. After a speech at the United Nations World AIDS Day in 2014, an audience member asked then-U.S. Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders about masturbation’s potential for discouraging early sexual activity. Elders answered, “I think it is something that is part of human sexuality and a part of something that perhaps should be taught.” Days later she was forced to resign for her comment. Inspired by this negative backlash, in 2015 sexy toy company Good Vibrations chose to honor Elders’ work with National Masturbation Month in order to encourage people to talk about self love and start conversations about sexual health and wellness.
May 1 – May Day
The return of spring, and if you’re pagan the celebration of fertility and fire! Don’t worry, you don’t need to be Pagan to enjoy dancing around your favorite maypole.
May 8 – National Outdoor Intercourse Day
Doctors are constantly recommending we get outdoors and get some fresh air, and now there’s even more motivation to do so. Grab your boots, and go do it like they do on the Discovery Channel!
June – LGBTQIA+ Pride Month
A monthlong celebration to bring support, awareness, acceptance and some extra joy to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer+ (LGBTQ+) community. Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. The first Pride march in New York City was held on June 28, 1970, on the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. Whether you celebrate for yourself, your friends, or your family, get out there and get loud and proud this month!
June 2 – National Sex Workers Day

June 9 – National 69 Day
The sixth month, the ninth day, need we say more? Enjoy this mutually satisfying holiday the good old horizontal way… or maybe the vertical way if you’re up to it! Don’t forget you can celebrate this holiday twice a year if you choose to apply European dates to your holidays, in that case 6, September will be your second observation of the holiday.
June 21 – International Kamasutra Day
Mmmm, the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. What better way to spend the day than by practicing all your moves, plus learning some new ones? Sure, it’s the longest day of the year, but we can also make it the hottest day of the year if we try.
June 22 – No Panty Day
Let’s get a little cheeky and have a sexy secret by forgoing our panties for the day!

July 21 – National Handjob Day
We can thank Japan for this hand-y holiday. Not only did the country create the holiday, they even created a superhero called Tengaman to celebrate the day. So go enjoy this underrated hero of sex fun!
July 24 – BDSM Day
Rosas Cinco, a club in Barcelona, claimed to be the only club in Europe dedicated to BDSM when it opened in 2003. That same year its owner, Kurt Walter Fisher, proposed July 24 as World BDSM Day. He chose 24/7 as a nod towards the practice of 24/7 BDSM (in which submissive and dominant enter into an agreement to keep to their BDSM roles full-time). But you don’t need to be a 24/7 BDSM participant to get tied up in the celebrations!
July 31 – National Orgasm Day
The National Orgasm Day is a celebration that celebrates the big O and raises awareness for issues surrounding sexual climax. Whether you plan to give or receive (or both!), we can all agree this is a holiday worth celebrating.

Each year International Swingers Day is celebrated by people who embrace the lifestyle. For nearly 20 years, this event has been recognized by top swinging clubs worldwide as the biggest swingers party day of the year. If you haven’t gotten into any swinging fun yet, this might be just the day to change that!
August 23 – Go Topless Day
Go Topless Day is an annual event held in the United States to support the right of women to go topless in public and bring attention to gender equality. So take your bra off and support the cause by freeing the nipples for the day.

September 23 – International Celebrate Bisexuality Day
First officially observed in 1999 at the International Gay and Lesbian Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, Celebrate Bisexuality Day (also known as Bi Visibility Day) is the creation of three bisexual rights activists, Wendy Curry, Michael Page, and Gigi Raven. There are lots of international celebrations of this holiday, so be sure to search your local city to join the festivities and enjoy the fun.

You might be a kink expert or someone who is just exploring what it encompasses. So it’s a great month to learn more about kink, BDSM, and everything else such a lifestyle involves. National Kink Month is the best time to explore your sexuality and try something new, and is considered the sexual month of the year.
October 11 – National Coming Out Day

Do some research within your community to find local festivities to enjoy, or start your own and invite others to join!
October 21 – International Fisting Day
Fisting Day was created in 2011 by Jiz Lee and Courtney Trouble, who thought the day would help fight fisting censorship in pornography, because people would be learning about, talking about, and celebrating fisting. We hope that International Fisting Day gives you a day to feel pride in your favorite sex act, no matter how misunderstood it’s been. Or if you’ve never thought about or considered fisting, look into what it’s all about on this special day.
October 31 – Halloween
Many folks enjoy the chance to express themselves in ways that society usually deems weird or inappropriate. November 23 – Polyamory Day
In 2011, a British Columbia Supreme Court judge ruled that Canada’s anti-polygamy law doesn’t apply to modern polyamorists, as long as they do not attempt to make a multi-marriage arrangement an official marriage in some form. Previously, three or more people living in one dwelling “conjugally” could be sentenced to five years in prison. But the Canadian Polyamory Advocacy Association (CPAA) took the initiative by declaring that November 23 would be National Polyamory Day in Canada. Americans jumped on the bandwagon to get this holiday celebrated and support the international polyamory community.

You don’t have to like group projects to want to take part in this fun project. Global Orgasm Day was originally initiated on December 22, 2006 by an author and activist couple to coincide with the end of solstice. The idea was for participants throughout the world to have an orgasm during the day while thinking about peace to bring about global change. Whether or not a global change can occur is open to debate, but we’re happy to participate just in case!
