Sex and intimacy coach, thought leader and relationship writer Zoë Kors is the author of the forthcoming book Radical Intimacy: Cultivate the Deeply Connected Relationships You Desire and Deserve (Hachette Go, April 12), which shares her methodology for nurturing and sustaining our intimate relationships. Zoë is expanding on the ideas in the book with her new podcast Radical Intimacy. Each week we will share details about a new episode. See episode 1’s post here.
On the second episode of the Radical Intimacy podcast, Zoë interviews Sarah Marshank on the topic of Monogamish: Navigating the Hall Pass. Marshank is the author of the memoir Being Selfish: My Journey from Escort to Monk to Grandmother and founder of Selfistry. Marshank leads workshops, teaches courses and consults with organizations to share practical spirituality and conscious awakening.
They discuss varieties of monogamy and ethical non-monogamy and how to have a mostly monogamous relationship. Within that, the episode explores the intimacy of having those deep conversations with a partner and using that to fuel the rest of your life. They also get into the specifics of how to negotiate an agreement if you’re in a monogamous relationship and want to explore ethical non-monogamy. “Within that container of our committed relationship and our primary partnership and our marriage, making the vows, then within that, our intention from the start was to give the other person full room to grow in every arena of their lives,” says Marshank in the episode.
