Lynn Brown Rosenberg will be speaking at the upcoming Residence 11 Desire Summit host alongside Girl Boner podcast host August McLaughlin on sexual awakening at any age, talking further about sex and aging and the challenges and rewards of that process. They will give helpful insights for audiences about how to enjoy sex and explore your desires at any stage of your sexual journey.

Lynn Brown Rosenberg is the author of the erotic memoir My Sexual Awakening at Seventy and has written articles for Salon, The Sunday Times of London, The Los Angeles Jewish Journal, and The New York Jewish Week. She wrote a short film called Solo which was honored with a Golden Eagle Award and is the author of numerous screenplays along with the thriller novella Breakthrough which soon will be released as an ebook. She is currently at work on her fourth crime novel.

Watch our interview between Editor-in-Chief Rachel Kramer Bussel and Lynn Brown Rosenberg, in which they explore topics such as; What happens to a woman who seeks to rediscover her sexuality at 70? Does she buy toys and porn? Does she push her boundaries to even greater extremes by joining a sex chat website? At Residence 11 we were lucky enough to catch up with Lynn Brown Rosenberg, and ask her a few questions about her experiences that led to her celebrated memoir. Watch the full interview here:

On her early sex education:

“My mother said anyone who enjoys sex is a prostitute. That was just one of many incidences of this. I became repressed emotionally and sexually.”

On not pursuing her sexual desires:

“I had a sexual desire, certainly when I got into my twenties. I did have sex with a few men, maybe more than a few. I had the desire, but I wasn’t free. I had all these messages in my head from my parents.”

On her sexual journey:

“I didn’t know a whole lot about sex. I just knew that I had the desire. So when I had sex with someone, it was exciting. But I was not totally with it… I never explored a thing about sex until I turned 70.”

“It was all exciting. Each stage I went through was exciting. I just got more and more excited the more things I did. And also during this time I started writing sexual stories and that really helped me to get excited, even writing my own stories!”

On what she wishes she’d explored sooner:

“I wish I tried everything sooner. I just had no idea and I was close-minded because of my upbringing. It took these stages that I went through. Every part was thrilling, eye-opening…it was an amazing journey.”
