Song of the Week: “Unholy” by Sam Smith featuring Kim Petras

Our song of the week is one that’s breaking records: “Unholy” by Sam Smith featuring Kim Petras. The song hit the Top 100 chart when it was released in October and, as reported by People, “became the first-ever openly non-binary solo artist to achieve the feat, while Petras became the first openly transgender solo artist to do so.” Petras called the night they found out about this momentous accomplishment a “super magical night.”

The racy, catchy and powerful song is one that’s sure to continue to fuel the success of both artists, with lyrics like:

A lucky, lucky girl
She got married to a boy like you
She’d kick you out if she ever, ever knew
‘Bout all the – you tell me that you do
Dirty, dirty boy
You know everyone is talking on the scene
I hear them whispering ’bout the places that you’ve been
And how you don’t know how to keep your business clean
